The word “Christian” is used three times in the New Testament (Acts 11:26; 26:28; 1 Peter 4:16). Followers of Jesus Christ were first called “Christians” in Antioch (Acts 11:26) because their behavior, activity, and speech were like Christ. The word “Christian” literally means, “belonging to the party of Christ” or a “follower of Christ.”
Recognize your sinfulness before a Holy God (sin is breaking God’s law. Sin is things like lying, stealing, etc.
Recognize that your sin has caused a separation between you and God
You must believe that Jesus is the only way to God
Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins because Jesus has the authority to forgive you of your sins
Turn away from your sin, put your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior
